Lithograph in colors on Fabriano hand-made, rag, cream laid paper. Paper Size: 19.375 x 14.375 inches. Excellent condition. Inscription: Unsigned and unnumbered, as issued. Excerpted from the volume (translated from Latin), Under the unique and personal direction and supervision of the publisher, this work, divided into five volumes, was entirely and exclusively produced in the Graphic Workshop of Rizzoli-Mediolani under the supervision of Peter Raggi and assisted by Peter Volonté and Iohanne Charles Penna, was brought to effect. The form of letters, derived from certain cradles of Aldi Manutius, was drawn up and shot again for this very purpose. The prints of this work were ordered: XCIX examples "ab alveo", each with an original painting by Salvador Dalí, on which they were printed on paper made from pure rags "from the canal" by hand, woven with transparent figures, and covered and compacted with a green wash, commonly known as "maro-chinum," decorated with gold ornaments and painted on the back dorso picta. CXCIX examples in a sumptuous "luxury" edition in Roman Numerals, distinguished from I to MCDXCIX, likewise printed on paper made of mere cloth "ab alveo" by hand, woven with transparent figures, and covered with green cloth covered with gold ornaments, painted like a mosaic on the back.

SALVADOR DALI (1904-1989) Salvador Dali's work is associated with the surrealist movement of the 20th Century.
