The preface to this hand-composed album in Garamont Corps 24 has been completed to print on June 15, 1958 on the presses of L'Imprimerie Union in Paris. 300 numbered examples were drawn at the press of I to 300, and 20 examples outside trade marked I to XX. MARC CHAGALL (1897-1985) Russian-Jewish painter is recognized as one of the most significant painters and graphic artists of his time. Chagall painted in a style all his own, combining elements of Expressionism, Symbolism, Cubism and, to a lesser degree, other Modernist art movements.
