Héliogravure on Papeterie de Mandeure vélin paper. Paper size: 22.625 x 17 inches. Excellent condition. Inscription: Signed in the plate and unnumbered, as issued. Notes: From the folio, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland; twelve illustrations with original woodcuts and an original etching by Salvador Dalí, 1969 (Field 69-5, A-M; Michler/Lösinger 321-33). Published by Maecenas Press, a division of Random House, New York; printed by Ateliers Rigal, Paris. Excerpted from the folio, For this limited edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the etching and remarques were printed by Ateliers Rigal; the twelve illustrations were printed by M. Nourisson; the typography was set at the press of Ateliers Rigal; portfolios by Cartonnages Adine. Printed in France in 1969. MMD portfolios, numbered I to MMD, were printed on Mandeure paper. Each portfolio is signed on the frontispiece by the artist. Each portfolio contains XII illustrations with an original remarque on each of these illustrations. I original colored etching signed in the plate is opposite the frontispiece. A few portfolios marked H.C. were printed for the publisher and his collaborators. CC portfolios, numbered I to CC, were printed on Rives paper. Each portfolio is signed on the frontispiece by the artist. Each portfolio contains XII illustrations with an original remarque on each of these illustrations. I original colored etching signed in pencil by the artist is opposite the frontispiece. A double suite, printed on Japon Nacre, of the XII illustrations with the original remarque and the original colored etching is included in a separate portfolio for this 'Deluxe Edition'. A few portfolios marked H.C. were printed for the publisher and his collaborators. A few portfolios on Japon Nacre are the property of the artist.
SALVADOR DALI (1904-1989) Salvador Dali's work is associated with the surrealist movement of the 20th Century.
