TATSUO ITO (1946), as a young artist, Ito was privileged to be privately tutored in the 400 year old school of classical Japanese painting known as Rin-Pa. Spending several vigorous years under this tutorship, he began to translate this ancient art form into his own unique, contemporary style of art...bold, vivid florals and forest scenes literally alive with the colors of nature. Ito is well known for his blend of Western and Japanese themes and techniques, and the thought behind his work is a combination of skilled technique and his personal philosophy. Today, you will find his works exhibited with major galleries in Hawaii, San Francisco and New York.
