Original collective edition drawn of one hundred and fifty examples on vélin cuve de Rives, numbered 1 to 130 and I to XX. Some examples are intended for companions. All examples are signed by the artists on the colophons. The unique lithography of Wols, and the etching of Dominguez are their last engraved works. Apart from the edition it was drawn proofs on large margins on various papers, all justified and signed by the artists. The woods and coppers have been striped and the stones erased after the draw.
WOLS (1913-1951), a German painter and photographer predominantly active in France. Though broadly unrecognized in his lifetime, he is considered a pioneer of lyrical abstraction, one of the most influential artists of the Tachisme movement. He is the author of a book on art theory entitled Aphorismes de Wols.
