LARRY RIVERS (1923-2002) A prominent Abstract Expressionist, Rivers is also considered the founding-father of Pop Art. Andy Warhol, described Rivers’ work as “unique –it wasn’t Abstract Expressionism and it wasn’t Pop, it fell into the period in between.” Regarded as one of the seminal artists of the twentieth-century, Rivers work has been the subject of countless retrospective exhibitions, and is owned by nearly every art collecting museum in North America and many worldwide.
