Chassepot, Lacouriere, Leblanc, Queneville, Paris, 1946. Excerpted from the folio (translated from French), Jours de Glorie, published under the patronage of the ministre de l'Éducation nationale, is sold for the benefit of the works of the French Red Cross for prisoners of war. The following have lent their assistance to the realization of this work: les etablissements Busson for typography & Bouan for phototype; as well as les Imprimeries Aranéennes & Tradition, MM. Chassepot, Lacouriere, Leblanc, Queneville, for the printing of the engravings; papeteries de Lana for the edition was provided by the S. I. P. E., 5, Rue de Beaujolais, Paris. It was taken from this folio, XX numbered examples from I to X on Lana paper, signed by authors and artists; M examples, numbered: M on Lana paper; L examples, out of commerce on Lana paper, intended for all those who have ready their competition to the realization of this work, including XXV nominative examples, accompanied by a first state of the Picasso etching.
LOUIS TOUCHAGUES (1893-1974) was a French designer, engraver, and Illustrator. His drawings for fabrics and silks were noticed by Paul Poiret. He collaborated with various illustrated papers including The Living Art, and New literary, and satirical publications including Crapouillot, and Le Charivari. A Parliamentary draftsman, he was delegated by the Fine Arts as a draftsman at the first Peace Conference as well as the arrival of General de Gaulle in Paris. He illustrated many books of Colette, S. Guitry, Mr. Achard, Mr. Ayme, G. Duhamel. His three albums: Women and models, Parisian and Waves in St Tropez reflect his favorite subject—women.
